Position Title Systems Specialist – Network Systems

Job Description:
- Role is to support a number of information technology projects that are due to be delivered in parallel. Due to the integrated environment and interfaces to control systems responsible for managing the electrical network there is a need for skill staff to oversee these projects and their delivery. This includes but is not limited to providing technical direction, design and at times delivery of solution components or systems. Given the nature of these control systems it is necessary to work in secured network environments. As one of these systems is ultimately responsible for the control of an electrical network, safety is a priority for all work being performed.

- Design and develop solutions to support applications in secure systems
- Work safely within secure networks
- Support ongoing knowledge mangement by documenting deliverables
- Support end to end testing of complex integrated environment
- Complete system level hardening to best practise
Standard skills/
knowledge areas
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently or with large virtual teams as required
- At least 3 years experience working in enterprise networks and systems
- Experienced unix shell, perl developer with Linux systems
- Experienced in unix and Windows Server builds and configuration
- Experienced in Linux administration and native software development tools
- Experienced in automating functional/modular test cases and stress and volume testing
- Highly desirable experience in modperl, Apache and CVS or similar code control system
- Strong experience in debugging third party code
- Strong Networking fundamentals
