Our client a largest Australasian-owned professional IT services providers, currently looking for a Software Asset Manager to join our professional and dynamic ITSM team here in Melbourne.

  • Maintain the management tools for software licensing, Asset Management, validation and re-harvesting of licenses and Configuration Management.
  • Responsible for the execution of the SACM process to customer assets such as laptops, desktops, software licenses through their lifecycle.
  • Support and deliver the IT Service Management Process from a Lifecycle management and SACM perspective.
  • Collaborate to prepare detailed processes for asset management, particularly focused on software.
  • Ensure process, procedure and work instruction documentation is up-to-date.
  • Initiate improvements in the operational process to support the Asset management services.
  • Assisting colleagues within Support Services.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement at an operational level. This ensures regular adoption and compliance to the process.
  • Liaising with and providing reports to other Service Management functions.
  • Assisting technical and procurement teams to analyse software requirements and provisions.
  • Ensure the Asset Management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored and met, particularly for service levels pertaining to software lifecycle and harvesting.

To be suitable for this role, candidate MUST have

  • 2-3 years\’ experience as a software asset manager
  • Good analytical, reporting and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
  • Skills in compiling and analysing large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Experience with managing a CMDB and AMDB an as well as relationship databases for reconciliation.
  • Experience in software Asset Management tools – specifically Flexera, Service Now, SCCM Console for reporting, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Understands the life cycle management services that IT delivers to its customers.
  • Technical discipline, demonstrating skills in the understanding, investigation, and presentation of complex information.
  • Relevant experience in an operational support within a medium to large size of organization or service provider.
  • Software (and Hardware) Asset Management knowledge and experience including licensing, software asset management policies and procedures, and procurement lifecycles.
  • Certified Service Asset Management (SACM) is preferred.
  • ITIL V3 Foundations certificate advantageous.
