Job Description:

You will be joining a progressive SRE team who work on current technologies provided through the AWS and Azure platforms. A focus will be placed on your ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of development practices, CI/CD and microservice architectures. As a custodian of production systems, you will be improving the run engineering landscape through the application of a software engineering mindset to operational challenges:

  • Proactively analyse the platform to design, maintain and engineer performance improvements
  • Execute and improve current processes via automation to reduce manual effort
  • Develop and extend internal tooling where applicable to run the platform more efficiently
  • Deploy and validate changes to ensure the platform is compliant with client requirements
  • Become a go to person for developers and service team members for troubleshooting
  • Join the on-call roster to provide out of hours technical support and incident response
  • Work closely with developers, Devops, and site reliability engineers to execute platform requirements and priorities

Experience:

  • Proven experience working in a Devops or cross-functional development team
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using a tech stack of GIT, AWS, Jenkins, Artifactory and Docker
  • Experience in microservice architectures involving API Gateways
  • Experience working with AWS particularly EC2, ECS, VPC, CloudWatch and CloudFormation
  • Understanding of the Azure platform and its core services
  • Environment monitoring and dashboarding experience with tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics or ELK
  • Experience in use of Linux based operating systems
  • Experience giving feedback and guidance to junior team members
