Our client is currently sourcing for a Network and security specialist to join them on a permenent capacity

Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for network and security infrastructure
- Rectify high level Incidents related to networking equipment and services
- Be an escalation point for and liaise with the Operations Bridge, other GT teams, customers and vendors
- Support managed WAN providers and act as an interface for technical issues
- Support Branch LAN/WAN environments domestically and internationally
- Undertake Network provisioning (small works), project delivery and network Change task
- Ensure monitoring, management and proactive maintenance tasks are scheduled and complete
- Monitor the Service Level Agreements (SLA) performance of communications carriers/network providers
- Analyse network traffic data and provide recommendations on infrastructure / performance improvements
- Provide technical consulting on project designs and validation of operational requirements
- Ensure the correct configuration, security and integrity of all network systems and software, escalating any risks
- Ensure all managed configuration items are correctly documented, backed up and recoverable
- Evaluate, communicate and escalate risks and problems
- Provide recommendations for performance improvements to network infrastructure
To be suitable for this position, candidate MUST have:
- Experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking, communications and security infrastructure, including Cisco, Checkpoint, Radware.
- Operational knowledge of and proven troubleshooting skills in networking systems and software covering Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), enterprise routing/switching, application delivery controllers, firewall administration and wireless.
- Strong enterprise Skills in Cisco routing and switching hardware and software and routing protocols
- Strong enterprise skills in Radware network load balancing / application delivery controllers
- Strong enterprise skills in Checkpoint / Cisco ASA firewall management
- Excellent knowledge of IT Infrastructure Operational environment
- Experience with highly availability systems, disaster recovery and business continuity
- Strong experience with infrastructure monitoring and management tools and service management tools
- Knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to data communications/networking.
- An understanding of emerging technologies in the communications sphere and their potential commercial application.
