Description:
- The ideal candidates will be working on current technologies provided through Amazon Web Services and Azure. A focus will be placed on your ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of development practices, containers and microservice architectures. Experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines are required. Also required is hands-on experience with AWS, Ansible, Docker and Splunk.
- Proactively analyse the platform to identify performance improvements that can be addressed by the SRE team or development
- Develop internal team tooling to aid in the maintenance, performance and reliability of the platform
- Design, maintain and engineer performance improvements to existing cloud environments
- Improve current processes via automation to reduce manual effort
- Become a go to person for developers and service team members for troubleshooting
- Review logs, build dashboards and monitor using Splunk, AppDynamics and other tools
- Problem solve technical issues raised by customers both internal and external
- Join the on-call roster to provide out of hours technical support
- Work in an agile environment, attending stand-ups, retros, planning and showcases
- Work closely with developers, devops, and site reliability engineers to execute platform requirements and priorities
Experience
- Previous experience working in development as either a software or devops engineer
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using a tech stack of GIT, AWS, Jenkins, Artifactory and Docker
- Solid understanding of microservice architectures involving API Gateways
- Experience working with AWS particularly EC2, ECS, VPC, Cloudwatch and Cloudformation
- Excellent working knowledge of Ansible and Terraform
- Environment performance monitoring and dashboarding with tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics or ELK
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
- Ability to problem solve end to end across a technology stack
- Experience with Axway, Azure, service meshes, networks or security will be highly regarded
- Experience working as a senior engineer within a cross functional team
- Understanding of Agile practices and experience working in an agile environment
