Our large financial client is looking for a talented and experienced developer to support thier development capabilities across a portfolio of applications including .NET (C#, VB) & Silverlight web/windows based applications.
The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, development, unit testing and delivery of Reference Data, SSIS, SQL 2008 and Silverlight/.NET based applications/modules to ensure the successful delivery of small and large development projects and initiatives.
Role:
- Application Design and Development using SQL 2008, SSIS, VB/C#.NET & Silverlight
- Analyze business requirements and build solutions based on requirements
- Project Leadership and Management where assigned for delivery accountability
- Assist system testers to support system/integration testing, defects resolution
- Understand, enhance and maintain existing Automation Testing Framework
- Manage time, approve timesheets and ensure deliverables are produced on schedule
- Promote and enforce change request process, providing input to estimates, as well as creating/modifying applicable deliverables, build deployment and handover documentation
- Contribute to the review and redesign of processes or procedures, on an ongoing basis, to deliver improved team productivity or efficiency
- Provide accurate reporting to project manager/asset manager/ stakeholders
- Contribute to post implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of delivery/process
- On-going management of development and build environments
Experience:
- People leadership and team management
- Stakeholder relationship management
- Strong communication skills
- Proven development experience in.NET (C# & VB), experience in .NET 4
- Experience with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
- Previous experience with Silverlight application development
- Large-scale multi-tier architecture understanding
- Sound understanding of testing concepts, experience with development of test cases
- Experience with any source control system
- Experience with Continuous Integration and build automation tools
- Sound knowledge of application infrastructure concepts, including the Windows operating system, networks, and databases (SQL).
- Experience with Agile projects
